A Compassionate Teaching Space
Yogabijananda has almost 40 years’ experience in practising and sharing yoga, meditation and kirtan. She has travelled to India many times, making numerous meaningful connections with the people there, and receiving a genuine treasure of understanding in return. She lives in western Germany with her husband Yoga Pushpam. Together they run a yoga ‘centre’ in the wilds of the countryside. They love to grow their own food and herbs and sustain a place where visitors can connect with the stillness and vibrancy of nature, and tap into their own creativity and inspiration.
Her kirtan journey was inspired by her teachers many years ago, and this inspiration flows through her kirtan playing and teaching to this day. Kirtan has been so deeply nourishing for her, a nourishment which she has subsequently shared with so many students. She holds a compassionate and humorous teaching space in which students can take the steps they need to feel comfortable and skilled with the harmonium and the drum, and furthermore explore the gift of their own voice.
'In Kirtan, the rhythm provides the boat, the melody the sails, and the lead singer guides the group to an island of peace. From there our eyes open to a new way of perceiving, our mind is uplifted, and our heart celebrates a new way of being. Having experienced the beauty of this island, it calls to us to return again and again' YogaBijananda
