New Pricing, Terms & Conditions
Pricing
We all know that the basic costs of living have increased at a significant rate over the last few years. Â The Ashram is in no way immune to these changes, and they have understandably impacted the ongoing costs of running the Ashram, including:
- Direct costs in running our retreats including food, heating and electricity.
- Indirect costs such as repair and maintenance of the Ashram buildings - only recently, for example, we had to replace the entire conservatory roof, as well as a section of the access track.
- The costs of offering a basic level of support to both the teaching and non-teaching members of the Ashram team, all of which are essential to the ongoing purpose of the Ashram.
The prices we charge for retreats have not kept pace with these increased costs. At times, it has felt as if the Ashram is running as fast as it can to simply stand still. While the Ashram always needs to remain accessible, we also want the Ashram to not just survive, but thrive. Therefore, after careful consideration and reflection, we have decided to introduce a new 3-tier pricing structure for our residential retreats from 2025 onwards.
You will be able to choose from one of the following when booking your next Ashram retreat:
- Benefactor – this tier allows those people who have the financial means and generosity of spirit, to pay a little extra for a retreat as a way of supporting others who are in a lesser financial position.
- Standard – as the name suggests, this is the standard tier, calculated to ensure the Ashram meets its essential costs year on year.
- Supported – this tier is for those who genuinely need support to attend a retreat, and hence pay a lower cost.
Our hope is that this new structure will give the Ashram a greater breathing space in meeting its costs and still support all those who wish to come.
Those who have already booked for a 2025 Ashram retreat will have their booking honoured at the previously stated price.

Terms and Conditions
We have also made some changes to our booking procedures and cancellation policy. As you will be aware if you have booked a retreat this year, all deposits are now non-refundable and non-transferable. If you cancel your place less than 4 weeks before the course, a percentage of the full course fee will also be charged, depending on the time of cancellation (full details >>here<<).
For all new bookings from today, you will be required to pay your full balance 6 weeks prior to the retreat start date (an email reminder with a payment link will be sent to you). If this isn’t paid within 3 weeks, we will assume you aren’t coming and offer your place to someone else.
These changes have been put in place to reduce last minute cancellations, which both incur costs to the ashram and mean that people on our waiting lists miss out on the opportunity to join a course because it is too short notice.
Â
We understand that such changes can feel challenging for some, particularly around finances. Yet the purpose of these changes is simply to ensure that the Ashram remains financially healthy, and able to continue offering its unique teachings for years to come, whilst remaining accessible.
