Swami Nishchalananda online Satsang 14/10/23
Swamiji continues with his commentary on the Ishavasya Upanishad. We look at the the assertion of the second verse of the text that 'Every person should wish to live for 100 years while performing Karmas in the world...' ' but then it goes on to say that Karma does not bind. Swamiji explains that although this sounds contrary to our concept of Karma binding us, this is referring to our very essence. We live our physical life as healthily as possible, but also look to understand the essence of a life which is not bound by Karma.
The meditation start by reflecting on the suffering happening because of war; Palestine and Israel, Ukraine and Russia. And in fact this prompts all the discussion in the interactive section at the end of the session. Many opinions expressed, trying to come to terms with compassion generated by the Spiritual Life, and the taking of sides through perceived injustice.
