Swami Nishchalananda Online Satsang 08/04/23
In this Zoomsang Swamiji first of all gives a guided Meditation which highlights the primacy of
Awareness or Consciousness. He then continues his presentation of the Bhagavad Gita by revising
verses 1 and 2 of chapter 9, in which Krishna explains that the theoretical/conceptual basis for
Yoga and Spiritual Life (vidya) is insufficient; it needs to be combined with a deepening of
experience or realisation (guhya).
During the question-and-answer session, he briefly mentions reincarnation, that it may have a lot
of truth in it, as can be evidenced by the transformative potential of Past Life Therapy, but that
realisation of the fundamental basis of what we are, is in the Now, this very Moment; dwelling
too much on reincarnation can be a distraction from the potential of Now. He talked of the
importance of experiencing deep peace within and how it can positively influence our lives. He
emphasised the importance of having an attitude of non-expectation in the affairs of life and in
our yogic practice; that all religions have gems of deep wisdom, and that we should not judge any
religion exclusively by its superficial aspects.
