Inner Trataka
by Tulsi
Trataka is a concentration practice. The word translates as 'steady gazing'.
In the practice an object of awareness is taken up and the gaze placed steadily upon that object. In the early stages of practice the object is external, such as a candle flame or an image. In the later stages the object becomes an inner representation, visualised in the mind.
The entire practice of trataka has three main stages, leading from the outer to the inner:
- Outer trataka
- Outer and inner trataka combined
- Inner trataka
The practice shared here is a 15-minute guided inner trataka meditation.
